How the Method works

Use it for big life decisions and everyday ones alike.

Pause & Breathe

Create space before you react.

When a decision feels urgent, the first step is to slow down. A few deep breaths, a walk, or simply sleeping on it gives your mind room to think instead of react.

  • Notice what you’re feeling, and name it
  • Give yourself permission to wait

Get Clear

Think, gather facts, remove emotion.

Write down what you’re actually deciding. Separate the facts from the fears, and gather the information you’re missing before you choose.

  • What exactly is the decision?
  • What do I know for sure, and what am I assuming?

Weigh Your Options

Look at the pros, cons and long-term impact.

List your real options, including ones you haven’t considered. Look at each one honestly: what it gives you, what it costs you, and how it looks a year from now.

  • Pros and cons for each option
  • Which option matches my values?
  • How will I feel about this in a year?

Take Action

Make a decision and move forward.

Choose, and take the first small step. A good decision made and acted on beats a perfect decision that never happens.

  • Decide, and say it out loud or write it down
  • Pick one small first step for today

Reflect & Grow

Learn, adjust, and celebrate progress.

Look back on how it went. What worked? What would you do differently? Every decision, good or not, teaches you something for the next one.

  • What did I learn?
  • What would I do differently?
  • Celebrate the progress, not just the outcome
